Legislative process for course(s) and major(s) or emphasis(es) within a major
The following is the legislative process for all course changes or new majors or emphases or changes to existing majors or emphases. Where two or more departments or colleges are involved in interdisciplinary courses and programs, requests must go through the process in all units at the department and college levels simultaneously.
1. Department proposal on appropriate forms -- approved by Department or Deparments if it is a joint program proposal
2. Forms submitted to College Curriculum Committee (Dean) for approval -- must be approval by all colleges if a joint proposal
3. If it affects a teacher education program or courses, it must be submitted to the Council for Teacher Education for approval (College of Education Dean's Office) as well. If it does not, then proceed as follows:
