of BIE Award
BIE Second Grant (2004 - 2006) Funded!!
PSU's Kelce College of Business has been awarded its 2nd
funding for a Department of Education Title VI Grant through the Business and
International Education (BIE) Program. This is again a two-year grant
beginning on July 1, 2004. Dr. Choong Lee of Management and Marketing made a
public announcement to the members of the campus community and the local press
of the funding of PSU’s second BIE grant funding. Title VI B grant will focus
on the College of Business. But some of the benefits will spill over to the
other colleges, and the second grant will provide much continuity for the
gains of the first grant in terms of internationalization of the curriculum.
The successful grant application was written by Dr. Choong Lee of the
Department of Management and Marketing, Dr. Bienvenido Cortes of the
Department of Economics, Banking, and Finance. While the full list of grant
personnel remains to be finalized, Dr. Lee will be the Project Director, Dr.
Cortes will be the Project Co-Director. Its office is located in 201 B, Axe

BIE First Grant (2002-2004)
Dr. Choong Lee of the Department of Management and
Marketing made a public announce to members of the campus community and the
local press of the funding of PSU's Title VI B grant from the U.S. Department
of Education under the Business and International Education (BIE) Program. The
announcement was made on Tuesday, May 7th in the Heritage Lounge in Overman
Student Center. Dr. Stephen Harmon, Director of International Studies, served
as master of ceremonies, and Dr. Lee, Project Director for the BIE Project
spoke on the objectives of the grant. Dr. Jim Taylor, Vice President for
Student and International Affairs, speaking on behalf of the PSU
administration, offered his congratulations, as did Ms. Marty Beezley,
President of the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce and Mayor of Pittsburg. Dean
Ron Clement of the Kelce College of Business also spoke on the value of the
BIE Project for the College of Business.
