Campus planning is a journey, moving through time in a constant state of change, interacting, reacting, adjusting, redefining, analyzing, projecting and planning. The many forces affecting higher education require vision, creativity and perseverance. Understanding where the University is at the present point in time is the beginning of campus planning. Being able to determine where the University wants to be in the future, as defined by the goals and mission of the University, provides direction for the planning process. The planning process consists of meshing the goals and mission of the University with a Master Plan which defines the physical facilities needed to meet and support the goals and mission of the University. The planning process is a dynamic one that requires defining, implementing, evaluating and redefining in a continuous cycle.
