The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) is an advanced level graduate nursing degree program offering the highest level of preparation for nursing practice. The DNP program offers the major, Advanced Practice Nursing, with opportunity for specialization in the advanced practice role, Family Nurse Practitioner in two tracks, the BSN to DNP and MSN to DNP. An emphasis in nursing education will be an elective option. At completion of the program, graduates will possess the terminal degree for nursing practice and will be prepared to function as expert clinicians, nurse leaders, and/or clinical nursing faculty. BSN to DNP graduates will be eligible to sit for national certification in their specialty and will be eligible to make application for licensure as advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs). DNP applicants will be considered for admission based upon their application and resource availability. The application period runs from August 1st until October 10th. The program will start in the summer session.
