Candidates may be hired as the Teacher of Record in PK-12 schools and earn a salary if the assignment is in an approved content area, utilizing the Kansas restricted teaching license. Candidates who do not secure a teaching position must complete a student teaching semester (16 weeks).
The Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary Education program prepares a candidate for a Kansas teaching license in a content area. Candidates pursuing a music, art, or physical education teaching license earn a PreK-12 teaching license.
